Way I Play has received it’s first exclusive. A picture of the alternative Xbox 360 design. This special edition Xbox 360 will come bundled with Halo 3 and will be released on the same day as the PS3. With the Xbox 360’s hardware specs already showing their age against the powerful PS3, Microsoft is hoping to bring new gamers into their fold with this retro design. With it’s wired controllers, no backwards compatibility, and lack of a hard drive, this special edition Xbox 360 will be a breath of fresh air in this age of highly perfumed technology. From Nintendo’s press release re: Revolution: Eh? That is totally all right. Even if you’re not a Nintendo fan, you’ve got to give them some credit. The only thing that Nintendo has over Sony and Microsoft is that the NES was the staple of gaming when most of us were growing up (sorry, Master System.) That catalogue of games, if made available via the Revolution, could be all Nintendo needs to really make an impact on the next generation battle. Exciting? Heck yes. This is getting more than a little absurd. I lose packs of gum in my car, pockets, and messenger bags. Not to mention the mess that is my bedroom. How can you possibly expect me to keep track of these tiny, yet powerful, devices? There will be multiple iPods and GameBoy Micros in our seat cushions. Why? Because we’re going to buy new ones after we lose these tiny bastards. We’ll end up owning about 6 of everything. Everything ending up in one of the six stages of being lost. First stage - being under your grocery list with your keys. Sixth stage - being buried a mile below the Earth’s surface. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m sad I never lived in a time when calculators took up entire rooms. Filed under: A 47 Danger and GBM and Rant Comments: 1 Comment |

Et tu, Nintendo? Nels comments below that most TV cabinets are designed with horizontal hardware in mind. True. So, attention, planned next-gen video game players: start investigating options NOW to mount your couch and TV on end as well. Here’s an open question. If you do set up your PS2 (I’m thinking the original, the bigger one) on its side, how easy is it actually to put the discs in the tray? Filed under: Beuks and Rant and Wii Comments: None |

Seriously, the controller is something Sony got really right the first time. It’s why it did not change at all from PS1 to PS2. Why f it up by making it harder to hold? Leave that to the third-party manufacturers. Filed under: Beuks and PS3 and Rant Comments: None |

That PS3 controller is weirdonic. Why the extra-long handles? Are they marketing to people with really wide hands? Are they buck bars so you can give little kids rides while you play? Does it also function as a marital aid?
