This may be pushing the definition of video games, but this is just too cool to pass up. The Music Genome Project has produced a fantastic website that will make your life so much better. It’s called Pandora and it will make you happy. Pandora is a device that claims “to help you discover new music you’ll love.” It works as follows. You plug in the name of a band or song that you like. This band or song has been analyzed for it’s music properties by musicians and music-loving technologists. The looked for minor or major keys, acoustic and/or electric guitar, mild rhythmic syncopation, and so on and so on. Pandora then matches up songs to the musical properties of your initial input, and plays the matching songs in your own specialized radio station. You can even save your “radio stations” and teach Pandora. Did you enter Weezer and it played the Bodeans? Bad Pandora. Just click on the Bodeans and give them the thumbs down. Pandora won’t make the same mistake again. This is certainly something you could play with all day. Which I intend to do. Enjoy Pandora right now! I command you! I would command you to smile as well, but Pandora will take care of that for me. Filed under: A 47 Danger and General Comments:
