The harder than hell Flash game turned PS2/Xbox game Alien Hominid is finally coming to your palm. Assuming you have a palm. Perhaps you are a dog that enjoys reading video game blogs. This game is not for you, dog. I know you can shake. That doesn’t mean you have a palm. Get over it. Alien Hominid GBA hits store shelves in November of this year. With it’s simple graphics it is sure to translate to the GBA very well. You can’t up-up-down-down Contra your way through this game. If you aren’t careful with your lives, you will pay. Maybe that’s just because of the way I played. With reckless abandon. Preferring to try and bite off heads rather than shoot enemies for far away. From my experience with the PS2 version, it was a heck of a lot of fun. You can’t go wrong with a game that lets you unlock different hats to play with. You’ll be sure to turn some heads dressed up as a nurse. And you can also wear a nurse outfit in the game. Huh? Huh? Get it? You should dress up as a nurse. See how I switched it around there? Comedy gold. Where was I before I attempted some comedy? I don’t remember. Rest assured, my GBA game hole will be ready to accept the gifts of Alien Hominid come November. I’m highly suspicious of the GameBoy Micro. One of the other award-winning bloggers has already covered the potential lose-ability of the GBM. My trepidation, though, stems from another issue related to the size: will this thing even be playable? Witness: Looks super-uncomfortable. Count me out. For mini-ness, I’ve got my GBA SP. For a prettier screen, I’ve got a DS. No need to further ruin my eyesight and speed my journey towards arthritis. Filed under: Beuks and GBA and General Comments: None |

If I remember correctly, Wario Ware Twisted was supposed to come out a few months ago, but was pushed back (rumors say the later release date was to give Wario Ware Touched a chance at survival.) So, I picked up Touched, completed it in a week (short game!) and patiently waited for twisted. And I’m glad it’s here. All the things I remember saying about the original Wario Ware (things like “that was funny!” or “adorable!” or “I am truly enjoying myself and this gaming experience!”) I have been also saying about Twisted. The “Gyro Sensor” goes beyond just being a novelty and is indeed a very fun and different way to play. The mini games all keep the same light-heartedness that makes the series a winner, although I’m finding the game to be much more challenging than Touched was. I’ll continue the review as I progress in the game. As of right now, Twisted is highly recommended. UPDATE: Here’s the catch: there are actually mini-games in Twisted that I DON’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY. I just don’t get them. Frustrating? You bet. Deal-breaker? Not at all. Go check it out. Filed under: ClackyJ and GBA and Review Comments: 4 Comments |
