Jack Trenton appears as an avatar on Playstation Home. His mouth doesn’t move with his voice. Come on, ventriloquist dummies have moving mouths! Trenton promises to show us games, games, and more games. But he’s still talking about not games. Sales info. PS2 and UMD sales? I could think of some information that would be more interesting. Any information. G4 is doing a really good job of covering this event. Not only are the PSP videos shown in a PSP system frame on the screen, we also have a long shot of the screen so we can’t see anything that is going on. It doesn’t really matter what games are being shown, because we can’t see any of them. Heck, even if I was sitting in the audience, the PSP system frame on the screen would severely limit what I could see. Poorly planned all around. More Playstation Home avatar business. Ho ho ho, they’re cooking burgers. Kaz Hirai is on stage, talking more about the PSP. In September, the 33% light and 19% slimer PSP is coming out. And, wow, you can output it to a TV! So other people can watch you play your portable device at home! Ice Silver colored PSP! Wow! I’m so excited about colors of things that I hold! And now Chewbacca is presenting the white PSP with Darth Vadar’s image on the back. Jack Trenton has no sense of comic timing. Bah. I’m tired of everyone’s nonsense, and I’m sick. We here at Way I Play seem to be a little sarcastic and bitter for some reason. Without paying massive amounts of money for professional help, it is much simpler to give the next generation of video game counsels three put ups. Put Up #1: Your commitment to wireless controllers makes me weep. Even though I will still sit very close to the TV, my roommate’s cat can no longer destroy the precious cords that make playing your wonderful video games possible. Put Up #2: Your many holes are a welcome sight. You are allowing me to stick many things in to you, and in a strictly non-sinful way. Ethernet cables, USB cables, compact flash cards, and the rest. I can not wait to buy things to put in to you. Your holes must be filled. Put Up #3: Your graphics are very pretty. You worked very hard to make your cars very shiny and your people very squishy looking. Because cars are shiny and people are squishy. Your things look like things that they are supposed to look like. Please let me make my shiny car run into something squishy. That would be fun. There. That didn’t kill me. Now, where’s my karma? I had better find some money on the ground for this little display of niceness. Filed under: A 47 Danger and PS3 and Wii and Xbox 360 Comments: None |

Just found out about Lemmings for PSP. It’s undated as yet, but I’m pretty excited. I love those little idiots, and it’s been years (nearly a decade?) since I’ve played the game. Strange to think that DMA design, who are the folks behind Lemmings, also started a little franchise called Grand Theft Auto.
In other news, I read a headline on Gamespot today: “PS3 to sell for under $500.” Geez, I hope so, for Sony’s sake as much as my own. I don’t know that I’ll be in any hurry to get a PS3 (or an XBox 360, for that matter), but I worry about Nintendo. They’re taking a risk by catering more to nostalgia than to the males-aged-15-to-24 megademographic. It’s a risk that I applaud, because I really want to download and play Super Metroid on it, but it’s still a dangerous move for third place (2nd place in Japan). Anyway, if the PS3 is not competitively priced, it can only help Nintendo. I think that’s one of the only reasons DS is afloat right now, is the price point being $100 less than the PSP. Seriously, the controller is something Sony got really right the first time. It’s why it did not change at all from PS1 to PS2. Why f it up by making it harder to hold? Leave that to the third-party manufacturers. Filed under: Beuks and PS3 and Rant Comments: None |

That PS3 controller is weirdonic. Why the extra-long handles? Are they marketing to people with really wide hands? Are they buck bars so you can give little kids rides while you play? Does it also function as a marital aid?
