I have been having similar problems, so I tried shortening my Q to 7 games that I considered must have, in response they simply have not sent me anything at all, no games, for 4 days after they said they recieved the last game.

Anyone been getting taxed on their gamefly charges? I live in a state where they don't operate out of, yet they still want to charge me taxes. The bright lad at customer service told me it was because they were an online rental company. AAAAHHHH! Now I see. You can steal from people if you rent games online, or could they be too stupid? I think not. Beware!!!

so far my experiences with gamefly has been mixed.

for awhile i didn't get anything but ps2 games but now i just got blue dragon so i'm happy.

you don't get what you what when you want but you get to play your fill of games usually without paying 50$ a wop.
a few times I'v had games just disappear on thier way here or from here to there but i figure that is due to some asshole stealing it or what not and so far gamefly hasn't done anything against me for it like try and charge me for it.
So so far i would say gamefly is a huge $cash saver and worth it!

Hi WiPPies (a.k.a. A 47 Danger, beuks, Clacky, Maxim & Tommel),

I thought you'd be interested in what we're doing at ROCKETON. We're developing a new type of virtual world / MMO game that doesn't reside on any single website, but spans the entire Internet.

I've included our press release below. It's scheduled to go out on Businesswire early Tuesday morning, but I want to give you a heads up.

Sincerely,
Eric Hayashi

P.S. If you're in town for the Game Developer Conference, you're welcome to join us for our President's Day Party, Monday 2/18 at 7:30 pm. Just email me for an invite.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROCKETON Raises $5 million for a Parallel Virtual World

What if a Virtual World Existed on Every Website?

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- February 2008 -- ROCKETON, Inc., a venture-funded startup located in South San Francisco, has closed its Series B round of financing with a $5 million investment from the D. E. Shaw group’s venture capital unit. This funding brings total amount invested to $5.8 million. The company is building out a new type of virtual world that doesn't exist on a single website, but, instead, is spread across the entire Internet.

"What would it be like if people could take a virtual world with them wherever they go on the Internet?" says Steven Hoffman, CEO of ROCKETON. "The answer we came up with is a parallel experience, where players rocket through cyberspace with their avatar and interact with virtual environments on almost every website they visit."

"What caught our attention about ROCKETON is the potential for a new, real-time social interaction between people online," says Michael Banks, a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. "We asked ourselves, what if you took the next logical step beyond Facebook or Second Life? How would that look? The result is a new way of experiencing the Web."

ROCKETON is focused on the convergence of personalization of online identity, web based community, and massively multiplayer online games. "We're building games around social interaction," says Eric Hayashi, VP of Business Development & Marketing at ROCKETON, "and weaving this into the fabric of the Web."

ROCKETON has an experienced management team that has worked at high-profile game publishers, including SEGA, Vivendi-Universal, Sony (SNE), Atari (ATAR), and Electronic Arts (ERTS). The team has been quietly building out the technology and infrastructure for a parallel virtual world that spans the Web since May 2007. The product is currently in closed alpha.

The Play Station Pro is a great device, but can be full of challenges. I never started with anything like this until my grandson showed me his during a visit. I still can't run my fingers as fast as he does and what a great coordination exercise. Of course, it doesn't take the place of "real" exercise, but it does with the brain. People need a balance but us seniors ... this helps the brain activity. I think every "senior" should have one of these. PS.. that goes for a Wii too!

Few things you need to do. No clue if this was stated before.

1. Shorten your q list. Take off games you really don't care for, or games you rather not get before the ones at the top. If all the games in your q list really are unavailable for shipping then the worst case scenario is that you have to wait an extra day. Gamefly has tons of customers and I suspect they get these games going in an out all the time.

2. You mentioned having to wait a long time for your next game (whether you shipped it out and they never got it, or they shipped it out and you never got it). Sometimes packages get "lost" during processing. In these cases they are relabeled and saved for the next day if they missed the outbound mail trucks. I know FedEx does the "next day" deal but others (such as a normal mail delivery service) might check the "lost" pile on a weekly basis. It sucks but I've known it to happen (letters to home from a summer camp years ago didn't get there for 3 weeks - 1 full week after I had already gotten back lol).

Gamefly can't really be blamed for everything. I see this happened months ago and now in their TOS they state things like what you've complained about. I believe they now realize these things and have fixed them accordingly.

Now.. if i can only figure out how much faster this "fast return" really is... (they sent me next game the day after I returned my old one - thats hella fast)

Yeah Sam, way to pay attention and read the review. It got a bad score because it didn't make good use of the Wii controllers. But that's alright, you can take my opinions personally there fanboy.

Oh, and if you want to rate video games, why don't you post your site and we'll all go on there and rate you? See, it's a two way street there, bub.
