I laughed at this … I laughed at this video. I work as a technician at a retail store and I get a few really stupid customers. It give me a laugh after.
Uhhu… I worked in … Uhhu… I worked in a company helpdesk. Lady calls me, says her printer doesn’t work.
I ask what printer she uses…
She replies: “a grey one!”…
I know, you hear this one as a joke every now and then… but it IS true! People SAY that… and not to make fun of the helpdesk.
Same thing goes for the “coffee cup tray” which turns out to be the CD Rom player…
Unfortunately your … Unfortunately your going to have to take care of situations like this regardless of your position in the tech. industry. Helpdesk sucks, but everyone has to start somewhere. Server maintenance isn’t really a full job role. That will probably be one of your many roles if you land a position where you get to do that stuff. In many cases, helpdesk employee’s will perform basic server maintenance tasks as well.
OMG,.. that;s what … OMG,.. that;s what I do NOT want to go into! I want to do server maint,, I can only take so much of these “Where’s my file? Why are the windows ghosting? Why is my computer slow?” Random questions from friends and family… NO CUST SUPPORT! ARRRG!!!
Yeah, but the … Yeah, but the idiocy of the ‘customer’ is sometimes even worse then shown in this video. If you have to call someone make it work, you shouldn’t own it.
well, the fact is … well, the fact is that it’s even more true than just funny. ‘internet helpdesk. please hold’. how many times do we hear such messages? especially when you call a paid number.
