How come Fox News does not simply read the news to the audience?

Posted in News  by admin on April 12th, 2010

I remember when the news was read to us with objectivity and impartiality. We got the facts and very little personal opinion.
Whenever I watch Fox News however, as opposed to simply delivering the news, they introduce some ‘guest’ with a biased opinion who is going to explain everything by way of subjective opinion before the viewer has been made aware of the facts.
Why does the most ‘trusted’ name in news steer from reporting and instead into political debate?

oh but you support the hate from msnbc huh !!!! Hypocrisy ia abound today!!!

If you don’t care for it, don’t watch it. Simple as that.

Why is it that so many people like you dislike Fox News, yet don’t stop watching it? Is this rational behavior?

You’re not watching the news. You’re watching the opinion shows.

Do you ever watch any other channels? Because you’re using Fox as an example, and that’s laughable.

It just STUNS me that the majority of our citizens are absolutely obsessed with a television station. This has been going on for years now. My liberal mother will not even allow Fox on her tv. No wonder our country is failing. It’s just beyond silly at this point.

Name a news channel that does do that, liberal!

You should’ve asked how come none of them do that. But you used liberal spin, as always, to just talk Fox News down.

You people are vile and sickening and the fact that you want us to be under socialism shows that you care about no one and probably suffer from personality disorders.

All news stations do this, not just fox. I believe Fox tries to sell it as completely the truth but it isn’t. Anything beyond the Who, What, When, Where is usually speculation. The Why, and How is where the opinion comes in.

They give their viewers what they want. If the viewers didn’t like it – Fox’s ratings wouldn’t be so high.

If you don’t like it – don’t tune in. There are many, many other (and better) news stations out there.

Those shows are "commentary" and not the News. If you want to see News on Fox, watch the News segments, not the opinion shows. There are plenty of opinon shows on other outlets as well, Meet the Press, The View, Real Time with Bill Maher, The Daily Show, etc. etc.

FOX news was voted by Pew research center, a left leaning, liberal organization, as being the most fair and balanced when reporting straight news.

You are confusing the opinions presented by political pundits for straight news. Pundits get paid to express their opinion.

CNN on the other hand, does NOT have fair and balanced straight news reporting because they leave out the news that shows Dems in a negative light.

Incident: A puppy escapes from his owner’s yard and is hit by a car.

CNN REPORT: A small puppy got out of the hands of John Doe a local man who cares for them, when the puppy was seen by Republican Joe Doe he accelerated his vehicle toward the puppy killing him.

Fox News: A young puppy escapes from his owner’s yard and is hit by a car. Now to weather

The problem is obviously that you aren’t bright enough to tell the difference between news and other types of programming.
On NEWS shows, they deliver news. FOX does this over more hours of the day than any other cable channel.
What you described happens in editorial programming and "magazine" shows, which FOX does LESS than the other cable channels.

Also, unlike the other channels, FOX has still never been busted simply making-up crap.

All news stations are there to get higher viewership, not give people the news. Republican news shows do it, and so do Democrat news shows.

    It’s about viewership, not facts.

To prevent bias the news is poked and prodded by more than one person and discussed by a panel to cover the many ways of seeing the same experience.
On Bret Baiers Six O’clock News, followed by Shepard Smith many of the same reports are given.
It is up to you to see clearly what happened.
The panel at six is best. Bill Krystel, Juan Williams, Mr. Krauthammer give their opinion backed up with facts and ideas to explain the situations presented.
Spend a week watching Fox News Sunday, Six O’clock News. Shephard Smith, O’Rielly,Hannity, Glen Beck, Huckabee.
You get the news a little fun, some music. Try it for a month.

News has never been as you state. I remember, shortly after bibles were removed from my elementary school, all the News discussing atheists, and how could anyone believe that they were they highest power and that there was no creation, plan or design.

The BC (BS) news don’t even bother to play or read the news anymore. They are so Lib controlled, they generally make it up as the go to hide the truth, and all you get is Leftist comment.

At least Fox News reports all the News, good or bad, as it relates to each party. Not the lopsided BS of only reporting what makes Libs look good or Conservs look bad (in their mind).

In the modern day, you are going to be hard pressed to find a news channel that will deliver both sides of the news if it involves anything political. I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as "truth" in the media because each side wants you to believe them and will go to extremes to get you to do so.

All fox news cares about is spreading it’s republican propoganda. So they alter stories, leave out important info that might make Democrats seem good, only invite republicans on the show (if they ever so invite a democrat on the show it is just so they can try to make him/her look like an idiot and say something that they can use again democrats), and glorify Republicans. In fact I bet if Mccain won and had the same exact plan as Obama they would be calling it "a piece of heaven on Earth" and calling him the messiah. Fox news hates democrats, blacks, asians, athiests, and basicly anybody who doesn’t agree with their racist, conservative propoganda.
