You might want to …
You might want to go with that then. In fact, my Egg Genie was supposed to come with a steamer tray insert – but alas, it wasn’t included. Of course, I could just use the egg tray for that purpose.

Well, it’s …
Well, it’s something to be considered I suppose, though personally I’d just by a steamer and an egg-timer, because you can use the steamer for other things after you’re done with your eggs.

Etimos, the eggs …
Etimos, the eggs just turn out consistently better with the Genie. They are always easy to peel, too. Maybe it’s because the eggs are actually steamed instead of boiled.
The little poacher tray works also works great, although sometimes it can be tricky getting the eggs out.

What exactly is the …
What exactly is the point of this thing? Is it that hard to fill a little gravy pan with water and time the egg for a few minutes?

Thanks for the vid, …
Thanks for the vid, Jack. I’ve been using the Egg Genie for quite awhile now. Here are some tips:
I’ve discovered that you don’t have to pierce the eggs before hard cooking them. I’ve never had any crack open while cooking.
The poaching tray is very small and works best with medium eggs. Spray the tray with Pam before poaching, and use a small plastic spoon to scoop the eggs out.
Use distilled water to minimize stains on the metal pan. Vinegar works great to clean up the water stains.

Nowadays most …
Nowadays most cooking pans/utilities have a teflon coating or similar to prevent stuck food, so it’s kinda a minus that you have to bother greasing up the thing, especially since you’re already cooking something greasy in it. :/
